Kraken Survey: Bitcoin Preferred Over Meme Coins

A recent survey conducted by cryptocurrency exchange platform Kraken reveals that Americans interested in cryptocurrencies tend to favor Bitcoin over altcoins, particularly meme coins.

Kraken surveyed 2,191 U.S. residents aged 18 and older to gain insights into their views on crypto investments. The survey aimed to determine how many respondents plan to continue investing in crypto by 2025 and which types of crypto assets they prefer.

The survey results show that about 74% of respondents are likely to invest in crypto by 2025. Among them, around 45% expressed a strong interest in continuing their investments, while nearly 29% indicated they are “somewhat likely” to invest.

Approximately 70% of respondents chose Bitcoin as their preferred type of crypto investment, while 17% favored altcoins like Solana. The remaining 12% preferred meme coins such as Dogecoin or Shiba Inu.

“These findings may indicate a focus on stability as investors prioritize coins with a longer history and larger market capitalization. These coins are also generally considered safer,” said a Kraken analyst.

Crypto Holds Greater Potential Than Traditional Assets

The Kraken survey also revealed that 36% of respondents believe that crypto has greater growth potential compared to traditional investments such as stocks, bonds, and real estate.

Regarding traditional assets, 34% believe stocks offer significant potential, 13% believe in bonds, and 17% see growth potential in real estate.

The analyst added that their findings show that crypto investors are becoming more ‘mature,’ viewing digital assets as a viable investment option alongside traditional assets.
