Bitget Wallet has outpaced MetaMask in app downloads. In July 2024, Bitget Wallet achieved 1.6 million downloads, surpassing MetaMask by 100,000 downloads, according to a report from CryptoRank.
Countries like Italy, Australia, and Sweden contributed the most to the surge in Bitget Wallet downloads, with increases of 7,500%, 5,300%, and 5,200% respectively compared to the previous year. Other regions with significant downloads include the Philippines, Russia, and Japan.
Factors Driving Bitget Wallet’s Download Increase
Several factors contributed to the rise in Bitget Wallet downloads:
- Advanced Trading Features: The platform offers advanced trading features such as smart money tracking, automatic slippage adjustment, zero gas fees, and instant trading mode. These features have specifically targeted the growing meme coin market, attracting a substantial user base.
- Integration with TON Ecosystem: Bitget Wallet made a significant move by integrating with The Open Network (TON), becoming one of the first wallets to fully support the TON mainnet. This integration propelled TON to become the most transacted network on Bitget Wallet in July 2024, surpassing major chains like Polygon, Arbitrum, and BNB Smart Chain.
- Bitget Wallet Token (BWB): In March 2024, Bitget Wallet introduced its utility token, BWB, which is used for governance, staking, and ecosystem airdrops. This led to a 50% increase in Bitget Wallet’s user base, reaching 30 million users.
MetaMask Downloads Also on the Rise
The achievement of surpassing MetaMask has sparked mixed reactions within the crypto community. Some social media users are impressed with Bitget Wallet’s rapid growth, while others note that MetaMask’s user base is already substantial, making it less surprising for other wallets like Bitget to gain more downloads.
Meanwhile, MetaMask also saw a 77% increase in downloads this year, averaging around 900,000 downloads per month, according to Data.AI
