Standard Chartered Bank’s Head of Crypto Research thinks Ethereum (ETH) has the potential to reach $8,000 US by the end of 2026.
Geoffrey Kendrick, Head of Crypto Research at Standard Chartered Bank said: “Ethereum’s dominance in the smart contract platform, along with increasing use in gaming and tokenization has the potential to push ETH to $8,000 US by the end of 2026.”
He also mentioned the growth of Ethereum layer-2 scaling solutions as a potential. Upcoming Ethereum enhancements such as proto-danksharding could help lower transaction fees on the network, cement Ethereum’s dominance in smart contracts and increase its price.
Kendrick views $8,000 US as an initial target towards a long-term range of $26,000 to $35,000. While the projections assume future use cases and fund flows that have yet to materialize, Kendrick says real-world adoption in gaming and tokenization will open up the possibilities.
Earlier this year, the crypto analyst had also set a price target of $120,000 US for Bitcoin by the end of 2024. Bitcoin is currently trading at around $27,000 US.
