Trump Wins, BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF Volume Hits Record High

Donald Trump’s victory in the recent U.S. presidential election has significantly impacted the crypto market, especially in Bitcoin-based investment products. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded its highest-ever daily trading volume of $4.1 billion, reflecting growing investor enthusiasm over Trump’s pro-crypto regulatory promises.

Trump’s Crypto Support Drives Investor Interest

Known for his support of financial deregulation and innovation, Trump leveraged his campaign promises to attract crypto advocates. His pledges include establishing a Bitcoin-backed national reserve, supporting crypto miners, and forming an advisory committee to promote crypto-friendly regulations.

This optimism spurred IBIT trading volume, which hit $1 billion within the first 20 minutes of market opening. Bloomberg senior analyst Eric Balchunas noted, “This surge is remarkable, even surpassing the daily trading volumes of major stocks like Berkshire Hathaway, Netflix, and Visa.” All U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced a spike, with total volumes reaching $6 billion—double the usual daily average—showing investor confidence in crypto’s future under Trump.

Data from CoinGlass shows that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF volumes surged on the day of Trump’s win.

Industry leaders, including Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan, describe this win as the start of a potential “golden era” for crypto in the United States. With expectations of friendlier regulations, investors are hopeful for the rapid expansion of institutional crypto products like spot Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S. market.

Since its launch last January, IBIT has drawn significant investor interest, offering a competitive 0.12% fee structure for up to $5 billion in assets during its first year. With holdings of around 429,185 BTC, valued at $30 billion, IBIT has positioned itself as a leading Bitcoin ETF in the U.S.

Trump’s political support and regulatory reform promises have bolstered IBIT’s market presence, creating new growth prospects for institutional crypto investments.

Observers now await Trump administration’s policy moves supporting the crypto industry and how these developments will impact overall investor confidence in crypto assets.
