Unlike non-fungible tokens (NFTs), fan tokens are fungible or, in other words, interchangeable. In short, fan tokens are like cash that can be exchanged for club merchandise, VIP access, and more. NFTs, on the other hand, grant ownership rights based on the digital copyright of a particular asset, say an artwork or even a meme, which is non-fungible.
That said, fan tokens play an important role in strengthening the club’s community. Basically, fan tokens do not necessarily have the underlying value of bitcoin or ethereum.
